Its mission is to deliver innovative solutions to support the entire data lifecycle, ensuring accessibility, quality, and interoperability.
In an ever-evolving digital landscape, structuring data and applying FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) are essential for effective reuse, processing, and dissemination.

Job description

As a Data Manager, you will contribute significantly to the management and use of geoscientific data across its lifecycle, ensuring its structure, accessibility, and reusability in accordance with FAIR principles. Your work will directly support efforts to better understand, protect, and sustainably manage our environment and resources, in line with the ongoing challenges of ecological transition and resilience goals.

Your main responsibilities will be:
Standardisation and Interoperability:

- Define and implement best practices for data interoperability.
- Design data exchange and dissemination services based on open standards (APIs, interoperable formats).

Data Structuring and Modelling:
- Design and maintain optimised, scalable data models.
- Participate in the development of schemas and ontologies to support data description and reuse.
- Contribute to the implementation of relational databases tailored to domain needs.

Data Integration and Dissemination Services:
- Integrate digital data into scientific databases using ETL tools (e.g. Talend, Pentaho).
- Develop and deploy services to enable data access and use based on standards.
- Contribute to documentation and user training to encourage service adoption.

Profile

Start Date: October 1, 2025
Education Level: Master's degree (BAC + 5)
Experience: 5 to 10 years

This role is a good fit if you:
- Are familiar with FAIR data principles.
- Know or are eager to learn about standards and frameworks (ISO, W3C, INSPIRE, OGC, etc.).
- Are comfortable working with data models and interoperable formats (e.g., JSON-LD, RDF, XML).
- Have experience designing data models collaboratively, ideally using UML.
- Are proficient with relational databases, including structure modification and advanced queries.
- Have experience with ETL tools (Talend, Pentaho).
- Are willing to learn new tools for designing and deploying geographically enabled data services.

You should also demonstrate:
- Strong collaboration skills, able to engage with subject matter experts, data professionals, developers, and other data managers.
