Context and contributions of the position
Joining the French Geological Survey (BRGM) means becoming part of France's leading public institution for Earth Science applications bringing together 1,000 wholeheartedly committed experts across 29 bases in Mainland and Overseas France. BRGM focuses on enhancing geological knowledge and understanding of surface and sub-surface-related phenomena, with a view to meeting the challenges of environmental changes through innovative projects with societal implications.
The missions of the team on Groundwater Data and Repositories of the Water Directorate (DE/DRE) are to acquire, qualify, manage, disseminate and map data on groundwater to improve knowledge of hydrogeological systems and their functioning for optimized management of water resources in a context of global change.
Job description
Your missions will focus on:
- Initiate, manage and implement national and international projects to disseminate and promote water data;
- Contribute to requests from government departments for expert appraisals; - Represent BRGM in national and international working groups;
- Develop innovative approaches to technological/conceptual breakthroughs within the multi-disciplinary projects or themes of the DE/DRE team ;
- Develop and maintain your national/international network of partners to initiate research projects (regional, national and European) and support public policies in line with the team's themes.

You will mobilize the following skills:
- Knowledge of the scientific and technical issues and challenges associated with water data; -
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative hydrogeology;
- Knowledge in data management; - Know-how and successful experience in setting up and managing projects ;
- Good knowledge of European directives and national water policy
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
