Job description
As part of your duties, you will be mainly responsible for :
-Participating in responses to calls for tenders in the field;
-Carrying out or helping to set up research, public policy support or commercial projects;
-Associating the ‘Geology of Sedimentary Basins' theme with other themes such as ‘Geothermal energy', ‘Natural risks', ‘Energy', ‘Groundwater', ‘Urban geology' and ‘Storage', in multidisciplinary projects;
-Participating in the harmonisation of underground mapping and geological data as part of the Référentiel Géologique de la France programme;
-Carrying out or managing integrated studies as part of projects involving experts in geology, cartography and modelling;
-Promote your work in France and internationally.

Experience: 5 - 10 years
You will have the following skills and qualities:
-Acquisition of geological data in the field or at sea;
-Mastery of the processes and deposition of sedimentary formations and their evolution, with links to the petrophysical characterisation of reservoirs;
-Mastery of the concepts and methods of stratigraphic and sequence analysis (field and subsurface);
-Geological mapping (surface and subsurface) and modelling of sedimentary formations (geometry, facies distribution);
-Mastery of GIS tools (Qgis, ArcGis, etc.) and tools for characterising sedimentary basin geometries and modelling reservoir properties will be a plus (Petrel, Gverse, Skua Gocad, etc.);
-Interest in project management;
-Rigour and autonomy;
-Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to interact with the various BRGM professions; -Good communication skills (oral and written);
-Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and strong motivation for applied geosciences;
-Good command of English.
-A post-doctoral experience, abroad if possible, or professional experience in industry (geothermal energy, gas storage, etc.) would be an asset.
